Install in ChatGPT

ChatGPT connects to Hoist as a custom MCP connector. Custom connectors are added through Developer mode, which is available on Plus, Pro, Team, Enterprise, and Edu plans (not Free), subject to workspace admin policy.

Steps

1. Go to Settings → Connectors → Advanced and enable Developer mode.
2. Return to Settings → Connectors and choose Create.
3. Name the connector Hoist, paste the Hoist MCP URL, and save the connector.
4. Approve the OAuth scopes shown by ChatGPT.
5. Use the tool picker to make Hoist available in the conversation.

Smoke test

Ask: “Use Hoist to look up ABN 11 695 718 659 and tell me the registered business name.” ChatGPT should call abn_lookup. For a counterparty check, ask “Use Hoist to verify ACME Pty Ltd” — ChatGPT should route to verify_counterparty (which resolves the entity before any ppsr_search).

Troubleshooting

• If connectors are unavailable, check the plan and workspace admin policy.
• If the OAuth window does not open, check browser pop-up settings.
• If calls return 403, re-approve OAuth.
